Ave Maria Utility Company honored by Design-Build Institute of America

Ave Maria Utility Company’s water treatment plant and water reclamation facility, together with its design-build firm CH2M HILL, has received top regional and national awards from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).

"We appreciate this important industry recognition of a major component of Ave Maria's infrastructure," comments David Genson, PE, project manager for Ave Maria Utility Company LLLP for the Barron Collier Companies. "It is particularly significant given the fast-track schedule of this project."

Ave Maria Utility Company was named DBIA's "Project of the Year" in the New York Tri-State Region, and a National Merit Award winner in the category of water and wastewater projects over $15 million.

Founded in 1993, DBIA is an association of leaders in the design and construction industry using design-build and integrated project delivery methods to achieve high performance projects. Each year, DBIA honors design-build projects that demonstrate successful application of design-build principles. Award winners exemplify the principles of interdisciplinary teamwork, innovation and problem-solving that characterizes design-build delivery, often breaking new ground in their approach and accomplishments.
